May 4, 2007, Newsletter Issue #62: ECU Tuning

Tip of the Week

Race Pages Tip: ECU stands for Engine Control Unit. This is the main computer that controls all of the engines functions or related functions. Among the most critical components of your vehicle, the ECU should be at the top of the list. It controls just about anything and everything engine related:

-Map sensors: The map sensor reads the air pressure in the intake manifold and calculates the amount of fuel required for the engine at that time.
-O2sensors: These sensors measure the content of the exhaust gas.
-Transmission sensors
-Water temp sensors

ECU tuning is not for the average mechanic. Superchips can help you tune and control your vehicles power, torque and fuel efficiency. Superchip systems are known worldwide for having the most up-to-date technology.
